The Designated J-1 Visa Sponsor represents U.S. Department of State to issue Form DS-2019 visa support form and generally oversee and administer this exchange program. When teacher candidate has been selected and recruited for this program, before the issuance of Form DS-2019, the Initial Sponsor Fees must be paid, which include Processing & Academic Fee: $1500; SEVIS Fee: $220 (SEVIS stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System); and Program and Insurance Fee: $95 per month, 3 months $285 due upfront and remainder billed monthly.
